I subsequently found it on the web.

Share and Share Alike
Archiving e-mails and documents is a requirement in this world of regulatory compliance. Just keeping them in a massive digital shoebox won’t do you much good when it comes time to retrieve or manage all those files.

Using SharePoint as a repository works well, but you can’t just drag and drop documents to store them, work with discrete message properties like message addresses and subject lines as SharePoint metadata, classify content for search purposes or sort and filter metadata — or can you? Colligo Networks Inc. is pumping up SharePoint with a new e-mail content management system that’s an Outlook add-in called Colligo Contributor. It will perform all the above functions and organize your content without leaving Outlook. Sharing with SharePoint just got better.

We’re really proud to have been named a Best of Tech Ed Award finalist in the SharePoint category.

As Michael Sampson mentioned recently in a post on his Michael’s Thoughts blog, Colligo recently announced a partnership with Apptix. If you don’t know Apptix, they are a successful hosting provider that offers “managed messaging and collaboration solutions for small and medium businesses, serving more than 130,000 end users.” They have marketed their SharePoint hosting through SharePointSite.com and have provided an introduction to SharePoint to many early adopters over the years with their offers of 30 day free trials.

This partnership is pretty unique, I think. Apptix customers can now purchase Colligo offline SharePoint products directly from the Apptix site or through their direct sales force. Now Apptix customers will be able to take advantage SharePoint whether they are online or offline.

For more information, chech out the press release. Many thanks to Michael for the mention.

Barry.

My name is Omar, and I’ll be maintaining this blog. You can sort of think of me as this site’s Chief Blogging Officer — a fancy title that we came up with at the office.

But first posts are always overrated, so let’s jump right into things, shall we?
