So long as you are a visitor to Vancouver it is a great place. Just don't try to live here. The city is completely overpriced. Local officials are inconsiderate and rude to locals. But if you are a tourist with cash you will be treated like royalty while your pockets are emptied.

The attachments are there. If you save the .eml to your computer and open with Outlook Express, the attachment will be there. It’s not the most convenient and useful way to handle the emails, but it is possible.

Many thanks Barry for your response, I have read up about Colligo and did put forward as a suggestion, it's nice to have the affirmation that there isn't an off the shelf solution that I just didn't find. Jo :-)

Hi Joanne,

I presume you are fowarding emails to email-enabled document libraries in SharePoint? If so, as you say, attachments will be stripped off and stored separately from the email body. In addition, email-enabled document libraries will only save a couple of email properties as metadata. There is no way that I know of to configure it to save emails in .msg format.

On the other hand, if you install Colligo Contributor Add-In for Outlook, emails and attachments are saved together as .msg files. It will also extract all the email properties (To:, From:, Sent:, etc.) and save them as SharePoint metadata. This is initiated with a simple drag and drop to a folder in Outlook - the rest is automatic. You can also use Outlook rules to automatically send emails to SharePoint. For more information on this solution visit: www.colligo.com/products/sharepoint/contributor_add-in.asp

Does anyone know how to send outlook messages in .msg format? I ask because we forward mails to sharepoint which strips out attachments unless you save first in .msg format then upload which seems pointless.
